Re: Weekend Plans?

  • edited November 2016

    Friday- Homemade pizza night! Gym

Saturday- Cleaning, Leaf cleanup- gotta keep up with them! Clean shed and put more summer stuff away.  Not sure what else

Sunday- Laundry, gym, shopping...nothing else planned yet

  • H gets home from a week long business trip tonight so we'll probably do lots of laundry.

Tomorrow we have friends coming from out of town.  They'll be here after lunch time and are coming kid-less.  Any suggestions on things to do?  I'm thinking a brewery tour but otherwise am at a loss!

Tomorrow morning I'm also going to a local Pantsuit Nation gathering at a church near my house.  I'm so excited to make some new likeminded friends and make some good out of this awful, awful week and what's going to be a very troubling few months and possibly, years.  I have still not been able to shake the terrible sadness and utter disappointment with our country.

  • TGIF!!!

Friday - Going to a magic show that we got free seat filler tickets for.  They are very clever with the free tickets.  The place is also an arcade and bar so after going to the free show the chances of getting out without spending money are slim.  We need to do some shopping in that area so we might make it out at $0 but then there will be the challenge of Target and BBB....

Saturday - going to our friends' house and making pierogies.  This is only my second time in the last few years so I hope they turn out.  The plan is to use them for our family Polish Christmas Eve dinner so there is some pressure but enough time to redo if they don't turn out.
Then late we have cousins arriving to stay with us for a couple of nights.

Sunday - Probably breakfast with cousins or something and then watch football, try to take care of some odds and ends around the house and relax.

Will people wear pantsuits to this gathering? Picturing a room full of pantsuited people is making me smile.
  • Tonight we're going out with a couple of friends to watch the US-Mexico soccer game. Should be a fun night even though I agreed to be the DD!

Tomorrow will just be another project/yard work day. I'm planning to take our pick-up out today to get a load of rocks to finish our dry riverbed and then tomorrow we'll get another load of mulch. I love our huge yard but omg...sometimes it really takes up a lot of time, energy, and money.

Sunday we don't have plans. The ILs are coming for Thanksgiving so we'll probably continue to work on on-going projects.
  • Today is the last day of vacation and we're going to a Veterans Day assembly at my niece's school. They'll be honoring all the vets, including my dad, an Army vet. She doesn't know that we're all going; it's going to be a great surprise. Then my mom is going to hang back and we're going to hang out this afternoon.

Tomorrow H and I are both going to the dermatologist, then the gym, then lunch with my aunt and uncle.

Sunday H is going to DFW for work and I will be getting the house ready for the painter to come on Monday. I'm excited to have our first big paint project underway.
  • Tonight: No plans
Tomorrow: H is working until noon so I'll try to get a bunch of stuff done around the house.  Then we have a surprise 90th birthday party for his grandpa.  It's going be a blast.  His family is fun.
Sunday: Church then our friends are coming over for lunch and the kids to hang out.  It will be nice to see them.

  • We are going to RI ComiCon this weekend. It starts this afternoon. I think I'm the only big nerd around these parts, but if I'm wrong and anybody else wants more info about it just let me know :)  The other option for this weekend was a long weekend in Montreal, and I am super glad we made the decision we did and aren't heading out on a 5 hour car ride right now.

We have the proper amount of cash put aside that we're allowing ourselves to spend ($150) and look forward to a MM-friendly but fun weekend.
  • Tonight:  Hockey game, hoping for it to be a win, or at the very least, not a total crapshow, like the rest of the season has been.  Very glad we didn't renew our season tickets :-P

Saturday: No plans other than getting the house in order.  My mom arrives next Saturday to stay for a week and a half so I need to get "her" room in order.  Grocery shopping too.

Sunday: No plans again, just watching some football and doing laundry, the usual Sunday stuff.

  • Friday:  Taking kids to there well visits this afternoon, pizza night and either a game or movie night with the kids.

Saturday: A little shopping with my sister and niece in the morning (coffee and a treat included!).  Then it'll be getting things done around the house - I feel like with two in school now and extra activities going on, it's never ending laundry, grocery shopping, meal prep, etc.

Sunday: Church, football, groceries and meal prep for the week.

  • Friday: dinner with my closest girlfriends and I'm going to tell them the good news! They've been my rocks and my sanity through IVF so I'm telling them early (with promises that they don't tell my mom they found out the new first hahaha).

Saturday: 2nd beta test and then hubby is having a board game day and I'll stay home and do some chores/errands and take the dog for a hike if it's nice out.

    Sunday: lazy football day!

That is cool blondie!  I wanted to learn pierogies so I made them with Grandma one time and wrote down the instructions.  That is what I am using now.  My mom never learned so this Christmas Eve will be the first time in a long time we have "Grandma's" pierogies instead of buying some.  I've been intimidated by making them but H wants to do it with me (he is the cook in our house) so doing it together is nice and makes it easier.

Sadly I didn't do any other Polish food with Grandma and my mom doesn't know much either.  I wish I had her paczki recipe.
  • Tonight - date night with DH - I"m excited

Saturday - no daytime plans but I just booked a very last minute wedding for tomorrow night at our union station.  It's going to be very different from a normal wedding.  They want to do a flash mob sort of thing.

Sunday - I really need some yoga stat!  Doing that in the morning possible baby shower in afternoon if I can swing it with my schedule.
