Wedding Gift for Hair Stylist?

My hair stylist got married last week and I have an appointment with her this week. I thought it would be nice to get her a small wedding gift and I found the perfect gift for $20, but it's out of stock at our local store. I found her registry but I'm not sure that getting a kitchen item seems appropriate given the nature of our relationship. Anyone have any ideas for a thoughtful wedding gift under $25? TIA

  • It is the gesture that counts so if you find something in your budget from the registry I would go for it!

  • I agree with @AprilZ81, it is the gesture that counts.  I'm sure she isn't expecting a gift from you and will be delighted you thought of her.  Could you find a similar item at another store?

I'm terrible with good gift ideas or I'd throw some out for you.

  • I think it's definitely the thought that counts here, regardless of what you get her.

With that said, I'm always a fan of a thoughtful card and a note with a check/cash when I'm not certain on what physical gift I want to give.
  • DD#2's teacher at day care got married last month and we got her a $50 target gift card with a card/drawing from DD#2. She was so excited about it- said she couldn't wait to get a few home decor items for their new apartment together. Made us happy to give her an opportunity to treat herself.

  • A card with a nice note will be a nice gesture and probably much appreciated.  A gift is very generous.  As for what to get everyone appreciates cash or if you get something off the registry you know it is something she wants.  A gift card to the store the registry is at is another option.
  • Gift card to the store where she is registered.  TBH those were some of my favorite gifts because we could use it for something we really needed while still being able to treat ourselves.

Our cash gifts just went into the savings account to build our emergency fund - we didn't actually spend any of it.

Also, if you want to give her a physical item instead stick to the registry.  I don't know about her,but I know that H and I put a lot of thought into our registry, and neither of us really likes clutter.  We did receive some lovely off-registry gifts, but the best ones were from family and friends who know us extremely well and know our tastes.  For professional or casual aquaintances, I think the registry is the way to go.

  • I like the gift card idea, thanks! I think she'll appreciate it.
