Outback gift card deal?
I'm going to buy a $50 Outback steakhouse gift card as a gift. I want it to be a tangible gift card (not electronic). I'll probably get it using cashback at Discover card where it costs $45 in cashback.
Does anyone know of a better deal?
Sadly, I don't think this is a restaurant that Rite Aid typically has with Plenti points deals like they do for Applebees and TGIFridays.

If you're a member of Costco or Sam's Club, they both sell a lot of gift cards at a discount. It's usually a minor discount, less or the same as the $5 you'll be saving, but sometimes can be as much as a 20% savings.
Or, Outback themselves might be having a gift card special. Like buy a $50 gift card, get a $10 gift card free.
There are also a number of "gift card" resell sites. The sites themselves warranty the cards, so your purchase is safe. But it seems like there is a good bit of seller fraud and dealing with the potential hassle isn't worth the savings (to me).
Ebay also has gift card sales/auctions on their site.
I learned with my mom though, they do NOT offer fuel points on gift cards to King Soopers, which makes sense.
@julieanne912 my grocery store has a similar promotion right now. It is a pretty good deal; with our size tanks it comes out to about a $2.60 discount off of gas for a $50 gift card.
@short+sassy those are good ideas. I'm not sure if the clubs sell them in $50 increments though. I'll probably order one from the Outback website and get the $10 bonus card. I am a little wary of those bonus cards after having a bad experience with the restrictions on a Buca di beppo bonus. The restrictions don't look too bad for Outback though so this may actually add some nice value for my giftee.
Just a heads up with those bonus cards. I purchased an olive garden gift card the other day due to the $10 bonus card advertised. It's not actually a gift card, it is a $10 off coupon for use between 1/2-3/31/17. I was very disappointed because I was going to buy enough to pay for catering for a party then use all of the $10 bonuses at once to get a free date night dinner. I can't do that per the restrictions on the back of the bonus card.
Outback may be different though!
Good warning. That is how they often work.
I tend to find the national chains work it that way. Like it is more of a "coupon". But local establishments with gift card X-mas deals, just give a bonus gift card.
Savvy tip for any mystery shoppers out there. If a restaurant you shop has a gift card promo this month, take advantage of it. Then (if allowed) use the gift cards on your shops and it basically turns into bonus free money! I make an extra $100-$200/year from the free gift cards utilizing this strategy.
@short+sassy I just stocked up on TGIFriday gift cards since we have a shop coming up there. They were offering $5 of plenti points on a $25 card at Rite Aid (which is part of the 5% cash back for drug stores on the Chase card right now). This deal was so good it got me thinking I should be able to do better on other cards, like Outback. I guess they won't all be that big of a win!

What are some good gift card deals/bonuses you have seen either for the holiday season or ongoing?
I feel like I haven't been running into as many gift card deals as I usually do this time of year and am missing out, lol!
You can get a $10 bonus card at Panera for every $50 in gift cards.
Cheesecake Factory is the best I have seen this year for a restaurant (assuming you like their cheesecake). Cyber weekend they had a deal where you got 2 free slices of cheesecake certificates with the purchase of a $25 gift card. You have to use them Jan-Mar but that is the only major restriction I see. I think a slice can be about $8 so that is a great value to get two of them. I plan to walk in and get a slice to go to redeem mine.
The deal now has gone down to one free slice with $25 card. They are also at Rite Aid this week for $6 back in plenti points with $25 card purchase.
