Re: TTC/3T Check In

  • I'm kinda "meh" today.  A friend of mine had her baby.  I'm delighted for her but I also feel sadness.  I've felt like we've missed our chance having another baby.  So I've taken the opportunity to catch up on a lot of things I've needed to do for awhile now that its my slow time.  Something about having control of my life right now feels right.  I guess I'm going to still have some bad days - I'd beed doing good for awhile now.  Teaching tonight kinda slapped me out of it.
  • I've started having some doubts, or something, about the adoption process. Just wondering whether it was the right decision. Deep down, I know it is right. But I'm still kind of pondering everything.

Im sure it's normal. But it's still there.

  • Hi ladies!

@vlagrl35 - Sorry you were having a rough day yesterday. Hugs... Hope things were better today. :)

@ilovewhitevinotoo - I haven't gone down that path, but it would seem that your feelings are totally normal. I hope there's someone for you to talk to thats been there. <3

AFM - These PIO shots SUCK big time. The actual shot has been fine (just feel pressure after the initial poke), but my tush is so sore! I'm trying to warm the shot before, getting my weight off the side getting the shot, rubbing it for a few minutes after, and then applying heat for at least an hour. I've also been trying to walk more and do squats (recommended by RE's office). I'm sure that I'll just get used to it, but these first couple of days are terrible! Would appreciate any pointers!

Hard to believe FET is this Friday already/finally! Then, a 3-day weekend of laying around to let those embies snuggle in!

  • @FutureMrsWright2012

I found that rubbing the area and adding heat made me feel worse, almost like a bruise. This isn't "helpful" per say but you do eventually just go numb there and it doesnt hurt so badly anymore. I'm sorry PIO is giving you so much trouble. It's no fun! Having done PIO and suppositories though, I would take the pio any day. Good luck lady!

  • @FutureMrsWright2012- sorry about the PIO shots.  I'm getting my progesterone check in Feb and I'm scared to take any progesterone based on my experience with the pills - my OB said I was basically allergic to it.  She did say there are creams and suppositories that I might do better with.  I'm just hoping my progesterone is in the normal range.  If not I guess I'll just have to take it.  How many Embryos are you transfering?
  • @FutureMrsWright2012 - I found that it helped to ice beforehand, then immediately get into a hot shower.  I'd massage the injection site while letting the hot water help out too.

Also, I'm sure you're doing this, but rotate sides each time too.  I also had them draw circles, and I'd rotate the location of each side too.  So, for example, on MOnday I would inject on the right side, right side of the circle.  Tuesday, left side, right side of the circle.  Wednesday, right side, left side of the circle, Thursday, left side, left side of the circle.  Then top of the circle, bottom of the circle, etc.

You can do your thighs too if needed.  I never did.

  • curious @sweetpotato123 - what were your allergy reactions?
  • As soon as the injection went in, I could taste the meds and then my chest tightened up and I couldn't stop coughing/trouble breathing. It got progressively worse each day, so I was afraid of serious side effects. I went on the suppositories and didn't have any issues.

  • good to know about the suppositories @sweetpotato123 - I think I will try those if I'm low on the progesterone.  Just 2 hours after I took the pill I had the worst heartburn of my entire life, hands were tingly, and I had diarrhea.  I had heard you may be sleepy with the pills but hadn't heard of those things so my OB told me to stop taking it.  It wouldn't have helped my chemical pregnancy anyways as I was already spotting before those were prescribed.
  • Today's the big day! Thanks for all the positive vibes! FX that this is it! My beta is not scheduled until 2/7, but I will probably test next Saturday at the earliest.  :#

PIO shots are getting better (just numb to it, as many of you have already said). First shot, I think H did at an angle towards my hip, so I had pain radiating down my right leg, which was when I had originally posted. Since I re-educated, they have been much easier. :)
