Monday Accountability (a day late...)

1.  How MM was your weekend?

2.  Any progress toward goals?

3.  Who has a snow day today?

Re: Monday Accountability (a day late...)

  • 1. A little pricier than we've been lately but all planned. $65 on groceries, $197 on a regular dental cleaning (we don't have insurance but husband's union reimburses at year end), and husband said he spent about  $100 at Pax East on brunch and some games/kickstarters. We also went out to dinner Saturday night but the friends that stayed at our house for the convention treated which was a lovely surprise!

    2. Between OT and some rebates/cash back we were able to add $860 to savings above and beyond our regular weekly auto-transfer.

    3. Snow day! My office never closes for storms so today is a special treat. Coffee, couch, tablet, and puppy cuddles alllllllll day  :-)
  • 1. It was a decent MM weekend.  $40 on dog party tickets to benefit the shelter (previously put on the cc); $20 on a celebrations rewards membership to get free shipping on the $44 popcorn tin gift for MIL (she isn't feeling well); $20 donation to breast cancer and $22 on tickets for a related event; $30 on drinks and snacks with friends post event; Sunday we didn't spend anything because instead of paying for a movie as originally planned we ended up getting free tickets to a play and on Sunday it was relatively easy to get free parking.

    2. Keeping spending in check over the weekend will help keep our next cc bill lower.

    3. We were supposed to get 2-3" but it looks like we aren't getting anything other than some flakes swirling in the air.  Our office is open (although the NY location is closed today) but I think some activities and things around town were announced yesterday for closing today.
  • 1 - I can't remember lol - it wasn't bad we ate out Friday evening, went to MILs Saturday night for DD's bday, Sunday took DH to the doctor and ordered DDs bday cake

2 - It's kinda tight right now but I did manage to put $100 in savings and I got a new student that starts with me after spring break.  We have someone looking at the music space downtown for possibly renting it to teach some students.  Hope he decides to rent.

3 - we have snow flurries today - I'm ready for spring to stay for good.
  • 1.  How MM was your weekend?

I spent most of the last week in Lake Tahoe.  Needless to say, I was not very MM at all, lol.  But we had a great time!!  We went sledding one day and drove snowmobiles on another.  Neither one of us had ever been on a snowmobile, so that was extra fun.

    2.  Any progress toward goals?

No, too busy playing.  But we have some money left over we didn't spend and I'm putting that against 'cc debt tomorrow.

    3.  Who has a snow day today?

Haha, certainly not me now that I'm back in NOLA.  But our layover yesterday was at LAX and we were overhearing a lot of horror stories from stranded people.

    1.  How MM was your weekend? It was pretty good- groceries ($134), pizza Sunday night ($11)

    2.  Any progress toward goals? Nothing last week- should be able to get a bunch accomplished this weekend though (final 2016 Roth IRA contribution, make sure DH's 403b contributions are ok, taxes done).

    3.  Who has a snow day today? All schools were closed yesterday and today. I wfh because it just wouldn't stop snowing, but should be back to work and school tomorrow.

  • 1. I spent $30 on sushi delivery. H bought beer. I also ordered picture frames from Target ($25).

    2. We added $400 to the emergency fund, and learned we will be getting a $1,500 dental reimbursement this year (same system as Lillibette's). Also confirmed the kiddo's addition to our health insurance.

    3. Every day is a snow day for me, but H was also home yesterday and that was a nice treat.

I was so psyched to put together our 2016 form while I had time yesterday and then realized my husband had left me the 2015 receipts somehow so I need to call the dentist and get his for 2016!  We actually are going to cap out at the $2,400 this year and I kind of want to get it back already lol. But this just reminded me to call them now! haha

Nice! We maxed it out last year and it was so exciting. We both skipped the dentist for a bit too long during leaner times in grad school and now we are paying for it. It really is a pretty awesome system. We've run the math every which way and it never makes sense to take the actual dental insurance, though that could change once I have a child with teeth.
  • Yea we will have to rerun the numbers with kiddo coming but I love that it also covers my contacts and glasses too.
