Went to see the movie "Watchmen" last night
It was awful! 2 hours and 45 min of my life I can't get back
Re: Went to see the movie "Watchmen" last night
I saw it with DH and I liked it a lot. I had to read the book twice to even like the story. But the movie actually made me like the book more.
I think they did okay with the ending but they cut out a lot of the Ozmandias character which I thought was confusing. If someone hadn't read the book and was expecting a superhero movie, then I think that's a set up for disappointment because I don't think the advertising explains it very well and they're relying on an established geek fan base who knows the story. (And the geeks were out in force when we went.)
I thought the book was violent, but I think seeing the blood actually in motion made it gory.
I am surprised they let young kids in the movie. We went to the Regal in Harrisburg and they carded us going in (all of us are 35+). Although I guess technically if you have an adult with a minor they have to admit the minor.
If they make Y-Last Man movie I will be there. This was just too intense for me because I am easily scared silly.
Side-note: I like to fancy myself not a prude, but could they have given Dr. Manhattan a bigger unit?!!?
Sure I get it. If I was a superhuman being who could see through all time and space, I may find clothes a little silly to. But come on! And did we need the life like shifting action when he walked? Really?

Maha, I'm with you on that.
We went to see it on Friday with my friends who had read the book so they were all gunho on going. I didn't really want to go in the first place and then I found out the movie was pushing 3 hours long I really didn't want to go (but it was my friend's b-day and that's what she wanted to do). I didn't think that it was terrible...just too too long!! I thought maybe they should have split it up like Kill Bill - volume I and volume II...then I may have enjoyed it more.
Side note - anyone else think that Rhorchak looked like the kid Ralphie beat up in A Christmas Story???
lol....especially the shifting action!
