It was kind of a last minute decision, but not really. I'd been wanting to do it for over a year now (couldn't run 3 miles last year) but wasn't going to this year b/c I originally had an 18 mile run scheduled for the day before. Because of this hamstring/knee issue I've had for the past couple of months, I'm dropping out of my June marathon, so now the 18 mile run is gone so I decided to sign up today (race fills up w/in days). The problem is, I haven't really done much of anything for about 2 months. I'm up to about 2 miles running now, but there's a lot of walking too...I'm fine w/that b/c I'd rather be slow than hurt myself again. But it's a 5k run, 20k bike (hilly) and a 400m swim...all of which I can do separately, but I've never tried it together.
Oh, and the race is May 10. I'll be drunk on a beach from April 25-May 2. Wish me luck.
