Re: Poll: SAHM
Ideally I'd like to be able to stay home with the baby at the beginning (for maybe 6 months - 1 year) but after a while I would want to return to work. However right now I'll keep working and we'll put the baby in day care and I'm alright with that.
I had to vote I was a workaholic, which isn't true at all. But none of the other options fit. When I was a SAHW with my XH for the first few months, it drove me crazy. I need to do SOMETHING - even if it's work part-time, to just get out.
I also LIKE the thought of our kid(s) going to a preschool of sorts at least part time. They learn a lot more there than I could teach them at home by myself; I'm not trained to teach like the teachers are. I'll be happy to be a parent, which includes certain aspects of a teacher, IMO, but the interaction and learning they can get can't compare to Baby Einstein on the TV. LOL

I agree with that completely. I hear from a lot of sahm's that sometimes they wished they worked because they need a sense of self and to be among adults.
That was my POV exactly.
