OK now it's my turn...

I know I haven't been around much lately. It's not for lack of wanting just been so dang busy. I do check in on you all as much as possible.

So anyway. You all know where George works. I rather not say on a public board like this. Ya know? Anyway,,,

So we found out they are laying off 600 out of 2400 managers and G is one of them in the line of fire. We "think" we are safe but don't really know for sure. He has almost 17 years with the company and we don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

The worst part is we wont know if we are safe for a few months as they are laying people off in stages. The first wave of layoffs will be this Friday. My stomach is in knots.

George isn't sleeping, and he hasn't been himself since they made the announcement. I'm so worried about him. He carries too much on his shoulders.

We have deiced to go on with our plans and life as usual as much as we can. We did cancel our big vacation in April. We may need that vacation time to help pay bills.

If he does get laid off ..well I don't want to think about it. The irony is if he does survive the layoffs, once the economy gets better, it will be really good for us as new positions will open back up but it's so not worth this anxiety.

How about sending some George don't get laid off dust my way. We'll take anything we can get.

I hate this economy and what it's doing to all of us.  Sorry to dump after hardley being here for so long.

Me too!  I'm sorry you are having to go through this.  Waiting around to find out is just as hard as getting the notice.  I hope he keeps his job.

  • Oh Amy I'm so sorry you guys are dealing with this. It must be so stressful - it doesn't seem like anyone is totally "safe" these days. I'll keep you guys in my prayers :)
