  I am in the same boat you are in. I stopped watching it last season to watch The Office. Plus...it got really dumb last year. This year I've gotten in the habit of watching the second half of Grey's after The Office is over.

  George is still there, but barely. He's rarely in any scenes...they've basically cut him out already.

   Izzy has brain cancer and has a 5% survivial rate. They incorporated this plot into the show by bringing Denny back. She thought he was real, but it seems as though it was a halucination from her cancer. So for weeks she was having an affair with a ghost. Weird!

  Thanks for the info.  When, if ever, I have time I need to catch up.  Last night when we were watching it Steve was like you know they are going to kill her off and have her dance off to heaven with Denny in a cheesy scene.  We figured out she was dying but now how.

  I agree last season did get kinda dumb and if not for DH making me watch it I might not have.  Thankfully we can DVR 2 shows at once bc the office would take precedence. I don't think they're going to kill her off entirely.  I heard she'd be leaving but they would only let her and TR out of they're contracts if they would come back for an appearance here and there.  So i'm wondering if maybe Derek will save (kinda saving himself in the process since he's on a bender) Izzy but she won't be able to be a surgeon any more.

  Wouldn't be a happy coincidence if Izzy's cancer is the kind that they can cure by injecting the virus into it (Meredith/Derek trial).

  I've missed all but one episode of this season but saw Patrick Dempsey being interviewed recently.  He made it seem like no one was leaving the show b/c of contracts?  Not sure.

  I missed it this week   I agree though about last season...it got so weird.  We actually bought the season on dvd during the Circuit City sale and I was glad that we didn't pay full price. 

  I had read recently that both TR and Katherine were gone because they wanted off the show and they were apparently difficult to get along with on set.  Guess we'll have to see how it all plays out.
