Internet Providers

Hi ladies.  Do you have any recommendations for internet service providers besides comcast and Verizon?  We currently have Comcast, but we want to cut them because they are so much money.  And Verizon doesn't have service in my area yet.  TIA

Re: Internet Providers

  • I know how you feel...

We have had Comcast forever, and we are constantly appalled at the price of internet and cable. However, we call up every 3-6 months and ask for them to give us a promotion. DH called last weekend and got a "double play" deal for $66/month.... this was after we threatened to cancel service. So, I'd try negotiating a lower price... and be REALLY persistent and threaten to cancel! GL!

  • Thanks for the suggestion.  We are on the double play right now with just the phone and the internet.  I don't really feel that we need the house phone anymore and if we cancel that, they will charge full price for the internet.  Plus, i don't need the "high speed" that comcast has to offer.  I'm fine with regular dsl that's a lot cheaper!  I would love to get the Verizon Fios triple play but they don't offer it in my neighborhood yet!
  • We have comcast and do the same thing as Eb.  we call whenever our promotion runs out and insist on getting the latest promotion.  We are currently paying $19.99 a month for internet for the next 6 months.

Fios should be here in June/July if you can wait that long. We may try it out once our triple play promotion runs out.
