Hey Wan so how do you make the corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot?
Lay it out for me please I may run to the store and throw it in the crock pot during lunch so we have dinner ready when I get back from school tonight.
You're the bestest...
,
The Mexican Lebanese girl who has never made this ever and is scurred but crock pot sounds easy enough so I'll try it..
Yahpee.
Re: Wan please report to this post stat thank you.
I googled crock pot corned beef and found a ton...
And then the store was out of corned beef. FAIL.

I googled too but I rather get a recommendation on a recepie instead of flying blind.
They were out?! Fek. I hope the Ralph's near by isn't out.
don't be scurred, i promise, it's totally easy. i just put ours in, too!
just buy the corned beef brisket at the grocery store - it's premarinated and ready to cook. every store i went to yesterday still had a ton, including costco. the latter is still regular price, though - ralph's is $.88 a pound!
buy a head of CABBAGE (gah! thanks, nabum), some carrots, and some red potatoes. take the brisket out of the package, put it in the crock pot and cover it with water. if there's a spice packet included, open it and put that in too. if you have 8 hours, turn the crock pot on to low and leave it. if you have more like 4 -6 hours (since you're putting it at lunch), turn it on high.
quarter the lettuce, peel the potatoes, and toss them with some carrots into the pot too. make sure the water covers it all - push them around the sides of the brisket so you don't have six gallons of water in there
that's it! when it's done, pull the brisket out, slice it against the grain, and serve with the veggies. enjoy!
All that chopping and peeling is going to take me forever isn't it?
:-/
mine was done in 5 minutes.
you also don't HAVE to peel the potatoes. voila! problem solved.
Do I have to peel the potatoes?!! <kicking dirt>
Thanks wan!
NM! Thanks wan! off to the store and then home in 1 hour or so.
Wish this rookie luck!
