So a few years ago my dad was diagnosed with borderline diabetes, he didn't have to do meds or anything just watch his diet. Well in the past month he has lost 12lbs doing nothing differently. He went to the doctor yesterday and I guess he has full blown diabetes and it is bad. I know a lot of people have it and handle it but I am just nervous for him. They said he would have ended up in the emergency room soon if he hadn't come in. I guess I am just sad and venting.
Re: Nervous for my Dad
Just remember that diabetes is a disease that people CAN live with. So he will just have to take care of himself and do exactly what the doctors tell him to do!
I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers though.
Ditto. But I can understand why you are worried.
Thankfully he went to the dr and they can help him. Like Mandy said, it is a disease that people can live with. My Dad has been borderline for years. He has one of those machines where he pricks his thumb everyday to check his sugar. And he started seeing a dietician. Once he started seeing the dietician and working on his diet things really improved. I'm sending lots of healthy vibes to your Dad.
