Here is an e-mail that was just sent out regarding dress themes for the remaining Saturdays during tax season:
All tax party animals,
To lift our spirits, the tax partners are hosting theme Saturdays with group competition!!
March 21 - Sweats Day
Come dressed in your best sweats! No grunge or holes, please, we do have clients visiting! (e.g. sleeves, covered midsection, etc.)
March 28 - College Colors Day
Breakout all your college gear. All are encouraged to wear anything with your schools logo/colors. This includes hats, t-shirts, etc. Remember, the March Madness tournament will be going on and this is a great way to rub it in a little more (assuming you have the right to).
April 4 - Outrageous T-shirt Day
The zanier the better! Shirts should be clean (yes, in both senses of the word). This is the one time you can wear T-shirts with messages. Be creative but not offensive.
April 11 - Surf's Up, Dude
It's time to bring out all your summer gear. That includes shorts/capris, Hawaiian shirts, and even your sunglasses. Have fun on our last Saturday of busy season! Please no tank tops, exposed midriffs, or short shorts.
Tax Group photos will be taken each week starting at 11 in the kitchen by Franz, resident photographer. Weekly awards for the winning group to be announced in the HIPPO. Photos will be posted on SharePoint for judging.
Re: The people at my office have lost it
I think some of the staff came up with it and the partners approved it.
Is it sad that I don't have sweat pants? I wear pajama pants to bed, I've never liked sweat pants.
I'd count the pajama pants. You can't wear sweat pants year round - they're sometimes too warm!
You can't blame them for trying to liven things up during busy season! Enjoy being able to dress a little more comfortable on your Saturdays.
And for sweats day I think you could wear some yoga pants if you have them.
I think it actually sounds like fun. It's like spirit week back in hs.
I dont own sweat pants either, but I consider my yoga pants to be sweats.
It's fun but the fact that the pictures will be posted for everyone in the office to see and vote on is kind of strange.
I mean, how do you vote on the best dressed group, especially with funny t-shirt saying day. He's going to have to take pictures of everyon'e shirt close up.
What's funny is that a lot of the people in my group down own sweats either. I'm thinking of coming in pj pants. I don't have yoga pants either. Maybe there is something wrong with me.
LOL, you're right, the voting part is weird.
