Re: Lucca Cafe in Irvine?

  • OMG, I ate here during restaurant week. It's a pretty cute little place. The executive chef/owner Cathy Pavlos had a cooking demo at Bloomingdales during O.C. Restaurant week. She did a cooking demo on her beef hanger steak, yukon gold potatoes, crispy artichoke, tomato b?arnaise and her swiss chard soup - which is to die for!!! We even got handouts on the recipes! But the great thing is they have a prixe menu all the time, so go in and enjoy her great and tasty dishes.

She focuses on using quality & fresh ingredients. The dishes are kinda small, so you might need to order a salad, appetizer, and dessert. Which suited our tastebuds just perfectly, you don't overeat on dishes. You really get to enjoy the entire dish. Her meats/salamis are from Mario Batali, too! Her husband picks the wine from Napa/Sonoma also from the smaller wineries, too. They have a great selection of wine. I am definitely going back to enjoy more of her menu selections. I highly recommend this restaurant.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! you are awesome! :) I am looking forward to eating there!
  • My sister lives very close to their and has heard great things about it.  She did hear that is was pretty expensive but that lunch was a great deal.  If you can get a good deal I would give it a shot.

You're welcome, and the customer service there is awesome as well.  Sometimes when I'm in debate on which item to order, I always ask the waiter/waitress. They are pretty spot on with their recommendations!!
