So it's match day, when all the little med students find out where they will spend their residency, and Hershey Med was on the news tonight. Did anyone else see it? They got a replica of the med center from Ace of Cakes and it cost them $2400. Crazy!!! How can freaking med students afford that??? I didn't know that they charged that much for a freaking cake.
Re: Match Day
That figures! We usually have Match Day for HMC in our conference center but this week has been busy with Board of Trustees meetings so I don't think they had it at our work this time. I would of loved to see it!
As for the med students...there are quite a few who's parents have money. The rest of them are probably $120,000 in debt for med school loans so I doubt those would be doing a $2400 cake.
Match Day is so crazy and exciting!
That's cool that they got a cake to celebrate. Does anyone have a link to the news story?
The Patriot
Edit: Sorry, wrong story. What are the chances of Duff being referenced for two completely different reasons on the same day?
That's ok. That episode just aired not too long ago so that could be why.
I saw it on WGAL last evening but I can never find anything on their website that I see on the news. I can't believe their minimum cake price is a grand!!! I enjoy the show (who doesn't love the mindless food network at times?) and some of their cakes look small. I can't imagine paying a grand! I do wonder if they are tasty...
It didn't mention anything about it being on an episode of AOC so I have no idea. Was a cute looking cake though, even had a little mini life lion helicopter! But it didn't have the new ER addition or hemeonc building. it looked like it was only the old crescent (that you see from the road).
Good luck to all the new (almost) interns!
