Hello ladies... my sister just had her first baby 3 days ago (we are all so excited!!) and she had an unplanned c-section after 36 hours of labor. She's coming home today or tomorrow and I would love to pick your brain on a couple things...
1. What "things" are most helpful to a new mom (esp. one recovering from c-section)
2. What can I do for her without crowding her, hubby, and baby?
Thanks so much for the advice... I want to be the best sister/auntie I can right now!
Re: What can I do?
I was worried about crowding my sister too but it turned out to be a HUGE help that I was there (even for only two days). Offer to watch the baby between feedings so she can sleep. Clean her house (I'm not joking- she'll love you). Go grocery shopping and make sure they have easy to prepare foods and snack foods.
Congrats on becoming an aunt!
These are all fabulous suggestions! Definitely offer to hold/watch the baby so that she can get some rest. Congrats!
things I liked after having baby -
food
sleep
someone to help clean
my mom and mil were godsends and I'm sure your sister will feel the same way about having you there to help.
What time should I be there?
