Anyone? (I'm watching it on MSN right now.)
I feel like it's so unfair he's catching slack for being on the Tonight Show. My only concern is that he didn't fly out there SOLELY for the show...and he says within the first few minutes that he flew into Costa Mesa the day before for a TownHall meeting. So WTF cares if he did the Tonight Show while he was there? LOL
IMO, the guy's facing something no one else ever has before and making himself accessible and I think it's not the worst idea - it's so much more refreshing to see him on on the Tonight Show talking casually than him behind a podium addressing reporters' grilling on questions he's already answered or just frankly can't/won't answer (so he's restating the same thing over and over.) Yes, Presidents have faced recessions and depressions before, but never in THIS type of media-based, plugged-in, up-to-the-minute society. So bravo to Obama for doing something no one else has done before - he's coming down to the common public and trying to make you feel like he actually CARES.
Re: President Obama on Leno
I agree with you Paula. I don't have a problem with him being on the show. Some people are upset that he should be focusing on the economy and not going on talk shows. Well doing this show probably took about an hour out of his day and it's not like he can't work on the plane to and from CA.
I agree - regardless of where he is, his staff is surrounding him and there's CONSTANTLY work going on. I'd bet money on it. LOL
Next thing you know, they'll be b!tching if he takes a few hours to have dinner and spend some time with his family instead of fixing our crisis once in a while.
Now if he makes this Leno appearance a regular thing (like every couple weeks), yeah, then I'm on board with complaining. LOL
