Sorry Irma! I hope you have a great shower anyway. I wanna see pics!
Re: It's raining.
the cooler weather feels kind of nice, I kind of like it. Enjoy your shower, Irma!
Thanks everybody! You are all so sweet! Here's my recap:
It rained up until the first guests arrived and then it stopped and became sunny. It was great. The place was large enough so there wasn't even a need to use the patio, and more people showed up than I had anticipated (about 50 or so).
The only glitch was that my aunts, who were binging most of the food, arrived an hour and half late, so I had a bunch of starving guests (including DH's grandma who gets very cranky). Oh yeah, SIL's 2 1/2-year-old daughter, the little terror, had this little cart that she was running around with and purposely slamming into people with. Everyone was horrified at how out of control she was. The little brat also slammed a door right into me, and I mean really hard. I didn't see it coming!
On a lighter note, I got so many dang gifts, it took me 2 hours to open them all. It was exhausting! I will not have to buy any clothes for the baby until she is a year old! My friend brought me ALL of her daughter's outgrown clothes (her baby is 10 months old). Someone said I could share with the octomom and still have plenty leftovers! And diapers...our cars barely fit in the garage now with how many boxes we got!
I have my work cutout for me with those thank you cards!
I had my camera with me, but with all the mingling I had to do I never took a single picture. My cousin said she would email me all her pictures, so when I get them I will post a few.
Tameka, your turn! Give us a recap of your shower.
Not really. We had a guess-the-baby-food-flavor contest. My cousin, a mother of 2, guessed 6 of 7 correctly. We also had a raffle for those who brought diapers. I guess that's why we made out so well in that department.
We did that at my work shower too. I made out with 12 packs of diapers. Some were the huge packages too. I only had to buy 2 packs of NB diapers and I have 3 size 1's leftover that I am going to see if I can exchange for size 2's. It is very nice not having to buy diapers!
