2 local dogs need a home

I got an email from a co-worker about two dogs, American Staffordshire Terriers who lost their mommy is a tragic car accident.  Their names are Syxx and Phore and they are 8 year old siblings.  Up to date with all shots.  They are in the Hershey area.  If you or someone you know might be interested in adopting please contact Kathy at (845)664-1239 or at kathy604@optonline.net.

If you're interested in seeing the pictures that were sent to me in the pdf you can post your email and I'll send it out.

Re: 2 local dogs need a home

  • I'd contact pit specific rescue groups - they're the best equipped to place the dogs in loving, permanent homes where they're not going to be fought, etc.  It is tough to place AST (or other pit bull type dogs) as an individual and be able to ensure their safety - there are just too many creeps out there trolling for dogs either to fight or as bait to train their fighting dogs.

I'd have her check out this link: http://www.pbrc.net/adoption/owners.html PBRC maintains a state-by-state list of pit rescues, but it doesn't seem to be working now.  Let me see if I can find another list for you...

  • thanks Mel...I sent the link to my co-worker to pass onto the contact person.  I realize that pitties can be hard to place since I've seen how many are in our local shelters.  They had another sibling but it has already been adopted.
  • Great!  I'll pass that link along to my co-worker.  I know he sent an email to his friend with the link you posted earlier and she was really excited about it.
