What did you ladies do with your dress

i'm a little late to getting to this. my dress has been hanging in my closet for a whole year now.  i just love looking at it though. it was everything i ever wanted and i waited so long to get married.

the plan was that i was going to model it this year in our church group bridal fashion show, mine was custom made with embroidery and i beaded it myself thank you very much! that took forever. but alas this year the fashion will not be happening. so i'm faced with what to do with it.

i know it needs to be cleaned. the bottom is just a mess. and there's makeup around my neckline. but i cant decide whether i should preserve it or just put it away in an airtight box.

so suggestions please.  and if you did preserve yours who did you use. i'm in california.

thanx ladies. have a good month.  cant believe i'm now entering my second year of marriage. that went by so quick

Re: What did you ladies do with your dress

  • mine's in a garment bag taking up space in my attic. i bought it on sale at an incredible price - i can't justify spending the $ to clean it - knowing it would be more expensive than the dress.

a girlfriend of mine cut hers down and created her daughter's baptism gown.  it was beautiful and a great way to put the dress to use, in my mind.

i've also been toying with the idea of trashing the dress.  again - it didn't cost me big bucks - the photos would be totally worth it.
