Hair question

Has anyone had their hair chemically relaxed or had the japanese hair straightening done (I think the only salon around here that does the japanese straightening is Changes Salon in Mech.)  Since I have naturally curly hair someone recommended a relaxer, any thoughts or advice?   TIA!

Re: Hair question

  • I don't really have any advice, but my mom gets hers relaxed because it's naturally curly/frizzy and it looks really nice! Never heard of the japanese straightening though...sounds interesting!
  • oh ok, thanks- according to Changes salon, the japanese hair straightening is a couple hundred dollars!
  • You could try a CHI straightener! ?They are amazing, you can get them for like $100. ?
  • I had it done. I LOVED it.  I had the Yuko done when I was in Los Angeles. I think that is the original.  No where around here does the yuko.  I got a similar chemical treatment at this place in Lemoyne (used to be Sugar Britches...can't remember the name now) and it didn't stick AT ALL.  I was very disappointed.  When I have time after the baby, I am going out to Philly and getting the yuko done again. I paid around $650 I think for around shoulder length hair but for 6 mos, I could get out of the shower, towel dry my hair and leave. I'd run my fingers through it a few times and it would be perfectly straight. Changes does some sort of straightening as well but I don't know what process they use.
  • ok yes i heard that yuko the luscio is the best! I will have to ask Changes what they use.... thanks!
