ANTS!!!!

have invaded my kitchen!  I had them last year around this time and I remember reading a post on here somewhere about how to get rid of them (without a ton of pesticides...I don't want my cat getting sick) but I don't remember what the remedy was.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: ANTS!!!!

  • If your cat is indoors only, I would potentially try Raid MAX.  We tried the ant traps before and they didn't work near as well as this particular type of spray, but the traps do work for some people.

    Good luck!

  • I think the stuff we use is a spray that you use outdoors around your foundation...I think it might be called Ortho Max or something like that.  It's a red and white container if I recall correctly.  DH has used it every year since our first year here when we had a few ants and after that we've never had them again (*knocks on wood*)!
  • Thanks!  I will probably be making a trip to Lowe's tomorrow at lunch.
  • I want to say that I've heard vinegar will repell ants.  I think you're supposed to figure out where they're coming in and spray vinegar around that area.  I don't know how well it works, though.
