restaurant rec?

DH and I go out to eat about once a week. Our usual haunts are getting kind of old (to me at least!) We live in the Lancaster area and dh will try anything, but doesn't like spicy food etc (he doesn't like el serano, boo!)

What are your favorite places?

Re: restaurant rec?

  • Your wedding picture is gorgeous, where did you get married?

  • My favorite places are in Hershey so I'm not much help but those are:

    1. Houlihan's
    2. Chocolate Avenue Grill (sister location to Cafe Magnolia on the west shore)
    3. Fire Alley

I also really like Carraba's which I'm certain they have one of somewhere between E-town and Lancaster.

  • My new favorite restaurant is Fujihana on Rt 30 in York.  Its a Hibachi grill and they cook your food right in front of you.  It was probably the best meal of my life :o) They serve Chinese & Japanese food, including Sushi.  My husband, who has always said he hated Chinese food, actually ate fried rice!  He said it smelled so good he had to try it.

BTW - there is a Carraba's in Lancaster, somewhere right off of Rt30, but I can't remember which exit.

  • We were married in State College at a place called Toftrees. That's us on the driving range at the golf course, haha. Carrabas is right by the Outback but I don't remember what "pike" it is on. I don't think we have been there in a looooooong time. haha. We are in a rut between the Texas Roadhouse and the Olive Garden. We default to them when neither of us has any other suggestions. I'm afraid of becoming a regular!

  • I thought that area in your pic looked vaguely familiar...while at PSU I had a friend who lived in Toftrees :)
  • Since DH and I moved to Mt. Joy, we've become obsessed with the Silver Spring Family Restaurant. I have never been a fan of diners and "family style" restaurants, but this place is awesome! The menu is HUGE, the restaurant itself is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. I'd highly recommend it for a change of pace. I have yet to be disappointed with their food.
  • I think Carrabas is off the Oregon Pike

I really like Symposium off the Centerville Road exit of Rt. 30. They have yummy food.

Scooter's on the Lititz Pike towards Lititz is great too.

We both graduated from Penn State and grew up in Clinton County... miss the mountains up there! Lancaster is too flat.

  • My best friend's family owns the Symposium. I love their food too. The seafood risotto is amazing.
  • Have you tried JB Dawson's at Park City yet?  There food is very good.
