Moms- car seat question

I am trying to convince my mom that you can buy a car seat base (for Graco sungride) separate from the actual seat. This is true, right?

My sister is coming out this summer and I thought it would be easier if my mom just bought a base than for my sister to ship hers since she won't need the base on the plane since they won't buy the baby a seat.

Re: Moms- car seat question

  • Tis true, and a good idea!!

I think my MIL has a base in her car from when E was born.

They can be like $80... so check out the shipping rate for it to go both ways.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • It's true. But they will be bringing the carseat anyway right? BUt they can check the carseat and base together at the airport. You don't get charge for baby related items like carseats.
  • You can prove it to her. They have them for sale at BRU.com
  • You don't absolutely need the base to fit the car seat in the car. ?You can fit it with the seat belt w/out the base just fine.

Really? Then what keeps it secure if there is nothing to click it into?

She can gate check the seat/ frame thingy on wheels that holds the car seat. This way she won't also need to lug the base I figured.

    Thanks all!

The seat belt. It goes over the top. A base is just faster.
