I am shocked. DH and I went to Lowes last weekend and picked out our tile. There was a huge sign on the tile that said porcelain tile. DH and I were adamant about buying porcelain tile because it is just a better quality. We did not know that the way to tell the difference between porcelain and ceramic. But the difference is ceramic tile has a red backing and porcelain has a white backing. Now we know.
So DH and his uncle pick up the tile and his uncle has the floor laid when DH realizes that the box says ceramic tile. Not good because we really wanted Porcelain tile and thought that was what we were paying for. So Dh and I go back to Lowes and plain as day the tag says that the tile is porcelain and not ceramic.
We speak to the Store manager about this and explained to him that we made an attempt to not buy ceramic and tile and it was falsely advertised. So low and behold they give the tile to us completely free. Can you believe it since it was their fault he just gave us a refund. We could not believe this because we never seem to have a stroke of luck. So even though we have ceramic tile laid in our kitchen it was all worth it because it was free. Yay.
