Re: Biggest Loser?

  • I only watched the first hour but DVR'd the second hour. I'll talk about it tomorrow with you if you'd like after I watch the second hour :)

  • I just watched it a little while ago!  I'm rather impressed by Tara - but would be more impressed if she wouldn't try to give up and if she would lose more weight!  I hope Jillian can get her past this!
  • To be fair, watching it, I could imagine how poor Tara's gotta feel.  She's been no BS the entire time - just suck it up and do it kind of attitude.  She had ONE bad week where she broke down (the week they couldn't use the gym).  And she's lost A TON of weight; as a result week after week after week she get shafted (think the half marathon with the cookies?  The extra pounds?)  Just watching it, it's gotten old to watch - I can only imagine how frustrating and disheartening it must be to WORK YOUR AZZ off and have everyone come down harder on you.  I'm GLAD she won.  She deserved it.

I wanted to reach into the TV and crack Aubrey for trying to talk to Tara after the 1st half of the challenge. OF ALL PEOPLE, she shouldn't have gone - her and Mandy were the biggest cry-babies in the house.  And if Aubrey had been on the receiving end of HALF of the crap Tara's gotten, she'd be freaking out all the time.

I'm also thankful for who went home. I'm tired of the whiners!!

  • I do agree - I like Tara and I hope she wins it all.  I was just a little disappointed when she said she was going to throw the weigh in.  I'm just glad she won so it didn't matter if she lost the fewest pounds or not.

I actually laughed when I saw that Aubrey had gained weight when she went home.  She's right - she does need to be there, but she needs to balance herself and her family.

I guess I could relate to Tara.  There have been things in my life where I've thought "Fvck it,.. I'm throwing in the towel - they win."  Thankfully, I've gotten over it, or friends (like Laura did with Tara) have pulled me up, dusted me off, and set me back on the right road.  I couldn't blame her - she was partially right.  She's not there for the money - she's there to CHANGE HER LIFE and she's got the tools to go home at any point.  Doesn't mean she should, though.

I agree, Mandy, with high-and-mighty Aubrey getting her just desserts with going home and GAINING weight back.  So much for her going home and changing her, her family's, and her dad's lives, huh?  I'm glad she got back on track, but I think her gaining 9 pounds back was the come-uppance she needed to bring her back down to the real world.

  • I never really liked Aubrey.  I liked Mandi more (probably just because of the name - ha...really it was because she sacrificed herself for Aubrey).  I cannot believe Aubrey and Mandi's dad is in SUCH bad shape.  Seriously, how do you let yourself get to that point?  If he would walk (WALK - not run) half a mile twice a week, he'd probably lose 10 pounds a week!  Well, that coupled with a halfway decent diet.  I know that if I can watch what I eat and take care of myself by walking a couple times a week, I lose weight quickly (well, two pounds a week which is kind of quick for someone my size) so I can only imagine what it would do for him!
  • Ok I watched the last hour last night and I have to say as much as Aubrey needed to be on the ranch to lose weight...I'm glad she went home.

And like Paula I can see why Tara wanted to just throw in the towel and it's not right everyone was ganging up on her! I'm glad Laura talked to her and helped bring her back to reality.

I think that was Laura's redemption.  LOL  I haven't liked her up until now - she hasn't really been there for Tara, but she was when Tara really needed her, so kudos to Laura!  I don't like her a little bit less now. LOL

  • I couldn't believe they kept Felipe.  He is obviously the bigger threat.  I wasn't surprised to see Aubrey gain weight.  I hope she gets back on track.  I was glad to see that her dad had starting losing weight.  Hopefully the three of them can do it together.

I felt bad for Tara, but I understand why they were doing it.  I was glad to see Laura step it up and really be there for her like she needed.  I don't think Tara is going to be losing big numbers as much now.  She still has a lot to lose, but who can only lose so much that fast.

I was kinda surprised that Helen stayed with Jillian.  Mike surprised me a little too, but not as much as Helen.  I thought Laura was going to switch.  Next week should be interesting.

Everyone was shocked that Mike stayed with Jillian especially his dad. I'm not shocked at all...I actually think it would have been stupid for him to choose Bob. He's been losing so much more weight with Jillian!
