dishwashers?

Anyone have any recomendations for a quiet dishwasher?  Our dishwasher at the new house is SOOO loud and last night MH decided we should probably get a new one after all.  SO, anyone have any ideas?

Re: dishwashers?

  • Sorry Mandy, I don't.  Ours is at least 9 yrs old and I hate it.

  • Jen: I think ours is at least 9 years old too!  My mom suggested Kenmore.  Apparently that was what we had in some rental property awhile back and it was really quiet, but the db rating that I found on them is higher than on some of the others.
  • We don't even have a dishwasher in our duplex (isn't a major problem for us either. LOL)  I can ask FIL if he has any recommendations, Mandy - he sells and repairs them.
  • Thanks Paula! I'd appreciate that!  I love having a dishwasher.  It makes my life so much easier.  ;)
  • Ours is somewhat quiet and it's a Whirlpool Elite something or other (sorry I don't the exact name). But my parents have a Kenmore and their's is pretty quiet.

  • Ours is a kenmore and has the quiet guard symbol on the outside but its not that quiet. Ours is provided to us by our building so i have no idea how old it is, i would say maybe 6 yrs old not sure though.
  • I don't have dishwasher, I do my dishes by hand but I am pretty quiet when I do them. I will come over and do you dishes if you want Big Smile
  • HAHA...I might take you up on that Greys!
  • If I start now I'll make it there by tomorrow!
  • I will also look when I get home - I JUST saw in one of my magazines how new - SUPER QUIET - dishwashers now have a light installed into the floor that goes on when in use.  Since a lot of dishwashers now have the panel on top of the door (so when in use, it's under the countertop!) and they're so quiet, people don't know when it's in the middle of a cycle.  The light goes on when the dishwasher goes on, and turns off when it goes off.  It was a pretty cool picture, though.
  • My brother is in the kitchen and bathroom remodeling business.  When we redid our kitchen last year, he recommended Kitchen Aid.  It is pretty quiet.  My parents also have one as well.  And we are both happy with them.  The cycles are a little long, but that doesn't matter to me.  I usually run it at night anyway.  He steered us away from the Bosch.  They have a lot of repair problems.

  • My mom has a bosch and her exact words to me about it were "It's really quiet and you can't tell that it's running..and when you open it to get the dishes out, it looks like it never ran!"  Apparently it doesn't get her dishes clean at ALL.  I'll look at the KitchenAids!
  • We have a kenmore.  I can tell when it's on but it's not extremely loud though either.  We didn't go that top of the line with ours because we don't use it that much.
