ladies involved with animal shelters-come in please
I know several of you are involved with animal shelters so I'm hoping you can help me.
We learned this weekend that friends of ours got rid of their 2 dogs (I know, I know) and took them to a shelter. I really wish they would have let us know before they did this because I cannot bear to see those dogs in a shelter.
Do you know if shelters will give out adoption 'records' /information over the phone? If I call their local shelters and tell them what I'm looking for, will they tell me if the dogs have been adopted? I didn't see them on petfinder.com or the individual websites but I don't know when they took them or how often they update their sites.
TIA.
Re: ladies involved with animal shelters-come in please
thank you pookielove, that is very helpful.
Our friend said that one was adopted the same day and the other dog was adopted 4 days later but I'm not 100% convinced. I need to hear it for myself before I can let this go.
If they have been adopted, I still won't be thrilled about it but I'll feel better then leaving them in a shelter when I could do something.
Sorry to butt in here.
We adopted our dog from the YCSPCA a half-hour after the owner surrendered him. I don't know if that is normal or not. Good luck!
