Is anyone else obsessed with the Food Network?

Well maybe not obsessed, but if there is nothing on TV that I actually want to watch, I always default to this channel. I don't really know why I love it so. People build giant cakes shaped like shoes and Dr. Seuss characters. They cook with "secret ingrediants" in frantic competitions. The host of Double Dare tells you how they make you favorite foods all over the country. I mean how can you go wrong with this?

  • Sometimes I don't mind this channel, but it isn't my "go to channel.

  • I always enjoyed watching the food network.  I try to get some different ideas to try with foods!

  • DH and I love Food Network.  We just started watching it within the past year or so.  DH was never interested in anything cooking-related until he started watching Good Eats with Alton Brown.  We esp love that show.  We also like Ace of Cakes because Baltimore is my hometown and my sister used them for her wedding cake last year.  She got to meet Duff and Mary Alice and I remember her saying how star-struck she was! Lol.  We also like Guy Fieri and Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives.

  • DH and I always watch the food network at night when we're trying to wind down.  I love Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives and so many of the shows.  I like some of their contest shows too.

  • The Food Network is probably my number one favorite channel. I watch it all the time. My favorites are Everyday Italian with Giada and Barefoot Contessa with Ina Garten. I really like almost everything on that channel!

  • I love, love, love the Food Network.  Even DH has started to get sucked into the competition shows after making fun of me for my apparent obsession with the channel. Yes
  • I love the Food Network...we watch it all the time. If there is a repeat, we always go to HGTV as a backup. Just got finished watching Iron Chef! Long live Bobbie Flay!

This is my husband too.  He puts on Iron Chef or the food network challenge all the time.

  • I love the Food Network!  It's one of the few channels I miss now that we don't have cable anymore. Although I did lose 10 pounds after we canceled the cable Stick out tongue
  • Food Network is definitly one of my go-to chanels (the other are usually HGTV, TLC, and E). I will usually get sucked into whatever is on. I do love Ace of Cakes, Rachel Ray, Semi-Homemade......, pretty much everything.
  • Sometime yes, sometimes no.  I love cooking shows, so Paula Dean and Giada are some of my favorites, and we LOVE LOVE LOVE Alton Brown -- I think we feel smarter after watching Good Eats.

But for the candy or baking competitions where they assemble a massive piece in one area and then have to move it - I really hate those shows.  I think it's a made up requirement to add drama.

But 75% of what is on that channel is watchable!

  • I've always been a FoodNetworkite but lately the prime-time shows are gettin me down. I'm not a fan of challenge because I couldn't do that stuff in my kitchen, and you can only watch so many episodes of diners, drive-ins and dives before your hair starts to turn white. the daytime stuff is much better for me.

  • I go through phases with the Food Network, same w/ HGTV.  I find I watch more FN during the Fall/Winter months when I want to be inside baking and cooking and feeling all cozy.  And then I watch more HGTV in the Spring/Summer when I feel like I want to be doing home projects or updating things.  But either way I def. find it interesting and ceratinly a "go-to" channel when nothng else is on.  I LOVE Paula, Ina and Alton, and one of my new fav. shows is Man vs. Food - grosses me out to see some of the fat-and-cholesterol-filled stuff he eats but it amazes me that he can actually complete the challenges!
  • I'm with Charlene--it is one of my go to channels, but depends on the mood. Lately, as in right not as well, I watch tons of HGTV, but thats also because we're doing a lot of landscaping soon and some home projects. I tend to watch FN more during the summer since I'm off and have more time to cook.
