Surprise 30th Bday Party

Ok, my hubby is turning 30 in May, so I'm trying to plan a surprise party for him.  We planned a BBQ for May 3 for our housewarming party- so I'm considering telling everybody that it is a surprise party for him- but he'll just think it is a housewarming.  Do you think that sounds like a good idea?

I am trying to think of ways to make this bday special because I've been told by several guy friends that the 30th is a really big one for guys- any ideas on how I can make it a cool bday?!

 TIA!

Re: Surprise 30th Bday Party

  • I think it depends how much of a surprise you want it to be. Him knowing it's a housewarming party and turning it into a b-day party doesn't sound like much of a surprise to me. But it depends how well you are at keeping secrets. I suck at it.
  • I wouldn't lump his birthday in with the housewarming party. Although, doing it separately means two parties in a very short time span.

I threw my H a party for his 30th and he loved it. He still mentions it from time to time so I know it meant a lot to him.

  • I would keep it seperate.

  • Ok cool - thanks for the input- I'll definitely make different plans... maybe just a weekend at the beach or something like that... too many options, lol!

  • I threw my husband a surprise party this weekend.  I had his brother keep him occupied for the day.  We also just bought a house and are planning a housewarming but I didn't lump the 2 together.  Our housewarming will be in June.
