As seen on TV: Pedi Paws, anyone use it?

Our cat has all his claws, which we clip/trim often, but always worry about clipping too short and hurting him.  I'm just curious if anyone has tried Pedi Paws (see it on sale everywhere now) and if it works or if you'd heard any feedback on it at all?  Thanks!

Re: As seen on TV: Pedi Paws, anyone use it?

  • I was skeptic but DH wanted one to try on Byron.  We got it at BB&B.  I actually used it on Byron a few weeks back and it does ok.  With him it's hard to get him to settle down to trim his nails because DH nipped him once to close to the quick and the poor thing has been traumatized ever since.  The Pedi Paws is basically a cheap dremel tool which a lot of dog people will use.  It's easy too which I like :)
  • I told Steve he could prob. just use his Dremel too, lol, but that would def. freak the cat out!  Is the Pedi Paws loud???  I like that it has a guide that won't let you trim too short.  Our cat is pretty used to getting his nails clipped and tolerates it pretty well, but still squirms a bit which makes us worry about a potential slip up.  The clippers w/ built in guides suck too since the guides never stay in place.
  • The actual grinding part is covered by plastic and then there's a little opening to stick the nail into so I think it would be hard to slip.  It's not super loud its more like a whirring kind of noise at a medium tone.  Not sure if that helps!
  • I'll be anxious to hear if you try this Charlene.  It's my job to cut the girl's toenails and I'm always afraid of cutting them too short so I only trim a little off.  Then it's a vicious cycle of having to cut them often since I only trimmed.

  • I mentioned it during a conversation w/ my MIL recently, so I'm waiting to see if she gets it for us as a little Easter gift (yes, we still get Easter gifts and baskets!) before going out and buying it ourselves.  But I'll definitely let you know how it works if we do get it, Christina!
