Do you have a landline?

I am just curious, we do but rarely use it.

Re: Do you have a landline?

  • Yes we do...but don't use it often at all.

  • Yup and we use it quite a bit. We aren't in the car a ton during the weekdays so we just wait until we get home to make calls.
  • Yes only because my mom doesn't have a cell phone and we need a phone at the house while she is watching David during the week.

  • Yes, we do.  We need to have one because of the alarm system.  It is bundled with our cable and internet and only costs us $15/month.  That includes unlimited long distance and call waiting.  I use it a lot.  Blair never uses it.  Also, I think it is important to have one because if you ever need to call 911 and call from your cell phone, you could get a dispatcher anywhere.  If you call from your house, it is routed to your closest 911 dispatcher (the one in your town).  Not that we plan on calling 911, but you never know.

  • Yes.  Right now, MH uses it for work (his work computer dials in through the phone line.)  His company is upgrading the computers this year, though, so we won't need it.

However, it has occured to me that we might not be able to get rid of it like we'd planned - I dial in for work every few months when I have coverage.  Thank you for posting this - it reminds me I need to talk to my manager about it.

  • We do have one, I don't get cell reception in my house and I like to have it for emergencies.
  • We do.  I think I am going to drop our features down some though (we have call waiting, caller ID, voice mail, three way calling, etc).  We don't need all of that with our cell phones but I do want to keep a home line (for the reasons that Kristi stated).
  • I guess im the lone person without one lol. Thats okay with me though i appreciate not having the extra bill. Since we live out of state and basically know no one we just use our cells as our home phones. My aunts and uncles back in ohio just got rid of their landlines too. We do have a house phone for our entry system though.
