Weird question

There is a guy that works downstairs from my office, I wanted to maybe set him up with my sister. We say hi to eachother and small talk but no real conversations. How do I find out if he is single without creeping him out or making him think I am interested in him?

Re: Weird question

  • Hmm...good question! Do you know any of his co-workers? Maybe you could ask them.

  • I "know" people like to say hi too, but same thing not well enough to ask a question like that without seeming creepy.

  • Like Kristin said, I would maybe strike up casual conversation with some of his co-workers.  Do you guys do organized happy hours? Maybe bring your sister to the next one and hopefully he will be there.

  • You could always go the route of just saying "I know this might sound weird or creepy but I was wondering if you might be single. I've been looking for a great guy for my sister and I think the 2 of you would hit it off."

Yeah thats an idea, I just afraid I am going to make him uncomfortable some how lol.

Kristi-he works for a different place than I do, I usually just see him in passing unfortunately.

Ditto this.  Even if you somehow find out he is single some other way, you would still have to approach him to talk about your sister.
