Verizon issue

So, this morning I checked our online account info to see if our Verizon and Time Warner Bills had come out of the checking account.  I see the TWC one did but the Verizon looked weird - they had only debited $2.97.  For our home phone and two cell phones.  So I go online to check the bill.  The bill says we owed $52.97.  Still VERY low.  So I pull up the bill and read it all and they ONLY charged for our home phone (which, hello, $52???  That seems high to me).  I've called twice and no one seems to understand that they 1) only billed me for one of our three phones and 2) they took out $50 less than the bill was for.

  • Wow that's really strange! Did you talk to a manager when you called? I'd make sure they document your records that you called trying to find out what happened and resolve the issue just incase they argue you didn't pay enough and charge you some sort of fee.

  • Well, I JUST got off the phone with a manager.  She told me "Well, your payment shouldn't come out until the 19th."  So I asked why $2 of it did today and she said she didn't know.  Then I say "What about the cell phone bill?"  She says "I don't know.  Are you sure you have Verizon Wireless?"

    No..I'm not sure.  I've only had Verizon wireless for TWO years.  Perhaps I changed it.  Anyway, I said yes and she said she'd look into it that maybe when I got rid of my internet (not by choice - I had to because they don't have DSL at my house) that it cancelled my cells.  I Said the cells were still working and she said "Maybe you aren't enrolled in one bill anymore...oh wait, yes you are."  Then she told me to call back tomorrow once she gets someone else to look into it.

    Sigh....

    I'd take a $2 bill if they're not worried about it ours is over $200 a month

    Ours should be between $150 and $200 I think - I've never had a bill just for the three phones since the internet was just cancelled.  At least I called.  I may send an email to them also - just so I'm covered.

    Ok, seriously...she asked you if you were sure if you had them as a carrier!!!!!!  OMG, sometimes, I HATE dealing with customer service depts. 

    I would call back and try to get someone who knows what they are talking about or just ask to speak with a mgr.

  • I actually laughed when she asked if I was sure.  She tried to cover it up by saying "Sometimes spouses switch services without telling the other.."  Um, if MH did that, I'd seriously wonder about our communications skills.  Sigh.

    The sad part is - that WAS a manager!  Maybe I'll call in a couple of hours.  Perhaps they'll be awake then and will understand my issue.

  • Are there different customer service numbers you can call for home phone and cell phone? If so I'd try calling the other one and see if they can figure it out.

    What would have been funny is if you were calling the lady from your Verizon cell phone! LOL!

    Sounds like a mess...but maybe since this is your first month without DSL it's taking the bill a little longer to catch up to what it should be?
