What are you making for Easter dinner?

We are having friends over.

Obviously I will do a nice ham... scalloped potatoes au gratin. What else? Green beans?

What's an Easter dessert?

Re: What are you making for Easter dinner?

  • My mom is making dinner, but I think she's having the usual- ham, red beats, potato salad, and a tofurkey for me, DH, and my brother.  She might do stuff like mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn too. I don't really remember. For what you're having, I think green beans sounds good :)

For dessert, maybe something like strawberry shortcake?  Seems Eastery to me.  Along those lines, I made this cake last weekend.  It doesn't look like that website wants to show the recipe for whatever reason, but if you were interested, I have it at home.

  • We're making green bean casserole to bring to the ILs.  They cook the ham, and everyone else brings a side.

As for dessert, I'm a fan of pineapple upside-down cake at Easter.  That and EASTER CANDY!!

  • DH isn't a huge ham fan, so I'm making a turkey (smallest one at Giant was 15lbs!), mashed taters, stuffing, green beans, and biscuits.  Maybe brownies for dessert. :) mmmm
  • We're having dinner at my parents... we're having ham, a potato casserole, baked corn, and some sort of green veggie (not sure what my mom decided on).  I'm taking an adorable cake that I found in one of my old copies of Taste of Home and strawberry cake balls a la Bakerella (dipping them in pink candy melts and drizzling with green candy melts).  Easy stuff, but should be cute. :)
  • My mom is making dinner but I'm taking baked pineapple and making dessert.  I'm taking a mandarin orange cake...light and hopefully yummy!

  • We're having our families over to our house and we're having ham, potatoes (my cousin is bringing those), cole slaw, broccoli cheese casserole, dinner rolls and something else.  For dessert, def. having carrot cake and something else my SIL will bring.

  • I was going to ask what everyone was having for Easter dessert because I'm bringing one to my MIL's for dinner.

We are having ham, scalloped potatoes, baked beans, deviled eggs, and a dessert that I still have to decide on.

  • Am I the only one who eats ricotta pie on Easter for desert? I think it must be an Italian tradition. We've had it every easter since I was little and it is DELICIOUS. Very easy to make too!
  • We usually have ham for Easter and lots of sides.
