I have been using Bare Minerals (well recently I bought the cheep Physicians Formula version of it because its about 1/2 the cost--there really isn't much difference) for about 2 years now and I love the way it looks on my skin but hate the mess it makes. My guest room where I have my vanity gets so gross from all the make-up dust so I think its time to switch.
Any good make-up recs?
Re: What Make-Up Do You Use?
I use Mary Kay, including the mineral powder. Mine doesn't make a mess; it's pretty much contained in the lid where I do my "swirling".
I like the benefit line, some kind-a gorgeous. I was using a mineral makeup but couldn't stand the mess either! I was concerned that if my sink looked like that, what did the inside of my lungs look like??? lol. I think about these things...
I rec going to sephora and trying out some stuff. Just make an appointment and they'll show you all kinds of fun things. I LOVE that store.
I currently use Clinique foundation (Superfit is the formula I prefer) and I'm pretty happy with it for the most part. I think it goes on beautifully and I feel like I don't have to use a ton of it to get the coverage I want. A bottle seems to last forever, so even though it's a bit pricier (to me at least, I was used to drugstore brands) you really get your money's worth. As far as other things (eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, etc) I use a mish-mosh of Clinique,Benefit, Bourjois (love their lipgloss!), CoverGirl, Maybelline, Rimmel, etc.
I used to use mineral makeup (tried Bare Minerals, but hated it!) from Everyday Minerals, much cheaper than BM and you can get a free sample kit (you just pay shipping and handling) to try it out. I liked the coverage I got and the overall "look", but on my oily skin it just didn't last the whole day. I also never got a system down where I could apply it fast, it seemed to take me a lot longer than "regular" makeup. Occasionally if I have the time I'll still use it, but it's not often.
I use Physicians Formula as well. It's cheap, and it's the only thing I've used in a long time that doesn't cause my sensitive skin to react. (I just went to a MK thing recently and my skin was a red mess afterwards. I'm sure it's great for some people, but not me). I use both the liquid and the mineral powder because my experience has been that the liquid helps keep the powder in place.
If the powder mess is driving you'd crazy, I'd recommend trying PF in liquid. It comes a tube with a sponge applicator, no mess at all, and the coverage is pretty good on it's own.
same with me and I love this powder!
Jliongrrl--now I think about my lungs as I put my makeup on and I can't get past the image.
Thanks for all the suggestions girls!!
