h+p for little maddie

if you read nanette's blog, saw my post on friday, or perhaps the zillion other blog posts and facebook updates, you'll have heard the story of sweet little maddie spohr, who was born almost 3 months prematurely and sadly passed away last week.  she was 17 months old - just a little more than a month younger than the bean.  i never even knew about them until nanette's posts last week.

the service to celebrate her short life is today at 2:30.  i really wanted to go, but it didn't work out for us and the bean is snoozing in my arms as i type.

i can't even imagine what her parents are going through right now.  if nothing else, it sure makes me appreciate my girls and my life even more than i already did.

Re: h+p for little maddie

  • As a mom of a 17 month old, this is heart breaking and I can't imagine what their family is going through. So sad.
  • This story breaks my heart.  After reading about how they defied all odds and listened to their gut to give birth to their little girl it just sucks that they lost her only 17 months later.Sad

I'm actually participating in the March of Dimes March for Babies on April 25th in L.A., I've had too many friends give birth to preemies to not show my support.

Maybe since you missed the services you could sign up for March for Babies? It feels good to be part of such a good cause! When I did it last year in Newport it was a fantastic event.

  • I cant even imagine what her parents are going through right now, so sad. ?Sad
  • This is just awful. ?Matt Logelin had posted this on his blog a few days ago and my heart just breaks for them.
  • It was a heartbreaking but beautiful service. I was honored to be a part of their lives. Heather and Mike are amazingly strong and gave the most beautiful eulogies.

(And NikiGee - I saw Matt L. there but didn't feel right introducing myself.)

  • Oh, and for those of you who don't know, I'm Nanette (aka Nannersp). Big Smile
