Challenge/Exchange/Accountability Jazz

Hey All -

In honor of our new presence on the nest (even thought we're still on T.K. too) , I was thinking it would be fun to do some sort of a challenge, exchange or anything to get us all involved and knowing something new about e/o. Maybe something outdoorsy or in honor of spring. IDK, but if we all start putting ideas here we'll come up with something neat. I know it's always especially fun to do an exchange where we mail things, so maybe even something along those lines.

Happy Easter and Spring to all!

  • I like the walking idea too. That reminds me that I've always wanted to get one of those things that counts your steps (or the really good ones count your miles I think.) Anyone have any experience with those??

  • At Wegmans, we do the "Eat Well, Live Well Challenge" and when you sign up you get a pedometer. Of course, I just found mine (2 weeks later) behind the stove, because the kittens think its a toy. But the goals are 5 cups a day of fruits/veggies and 10,000 steps.

Now that should provide a good kick start!

I need to get another pedometer.  Mine was "lost" in my move last year - or - perhaps mine was made a cat toy at some point, as well.  There's just no telling!

  • My last semester of university, when I was student teaching and an RA in the dorms (which meant I had nightly rounds of the building when I was on call) I logged at least 10,000 steps a day on my pedometer, I think the highest I had one day was 16,000!!

    ?

Now I bet I'm lucky if I get 1000 steps a day... and all that is from the bed to the bathroom to the couch and back! GAH! I need to get a pedometer and start keeping track. ?

today I went to the grocery store, I walked down the hill and through the store and then ?back up the hill with 3 bags of HEAVY groceries!! I bought salad and apples and other healthy foods!!!

    gonna kick it into gear!!?

I think if I walk down the hill and back up a few times a day that will be a good work out. I like doing it with groceries in my hands because I do pull ups and work my triceps at the same time, but I still have to pause a few times coming up the hill because I am out of breath! That should be my first goal, getting up the hill without stopping!?
