Biggest Loser talk (spoilers)
I felt so bad for Laura but she needed to go home. I HATED what they did to her hair. As for the whole makeover part of the show, it sucked. They showed Tim Gunn for a couple of minutes total and then them getting introduced to the hair stylists and a few minutes of that and then that was it. I was dissapointed.
Tara looked fantastic. Mike looked amazing. And dare I say that Filipe looked handsome after getting his hair cut.
Re: Biggest Loser talk (spoilers)
I LOVED Laura's makeover and thought hers was the only one where I went "Wow!" I hadn't realized how much weight she'd lost and LOVED the new haircolor for her. LOL (Really brought out her eyes, I think.)
I didn't think anyone else's makeover was great. Tara's was okay, but she looks like that often enough, you know? *shrugs* It was just her hair and makeup done, which we've seen before. I HATED Kristin's!
I felt so bad for Laura as well - she seems to be doing well, though, at home. Maintaining her weight while she can't do much of anything? Kudos to her!
I wanted to jump through the TV and hug Max, though... he broke my heart when he said "I'm the big one now." I think Mikey can DEFINITELY help him but still think Ron's a jacka$$ and will always look like crap.
And I liked Kristin's hair miuch better than the streaky blonde and brown she had before. LOL. And about Tara, that is kinda what I was saying yesterday that she looks like that minus the dress and curls at the weigh ins. I knew there couldn't have been this extreme makeover to make her look better than she already did.
OMG, watching Max like that seriously broke my heart. I think Mikey WILL help him but I do have to say that he needs the will to do it himself, he doesn't need Mikey to help him lose weight...he just needs to drive and some encouragement which Mikey will give him.
I was upset at Laura for not offering to go home after her injury. There is no way she would have gotten any better staying on the ranch. And then for Tara to act so selfish trying to get her to stay...I think she was trying to get Laura to stay because it's a vote in her favor. But I was glad to see she maintained her weight loss through her recovery.
The make overs were so-so. I think Mikey looked the best! And his brother broke my heart too. I feel so bad for him but with some help from Mike I think he'll do just fine. I wonder if they'll show Max at the finale and show if he's lost any weight.
I think Tara looked great, laura bugs me, but I'm glad she was able to go home and maintain. I thought Mike looked really good, maybe they should bring his brother back for next season, seriously he already has been on the show when Ron and Mike visited home, so people will recogize him and know where he's coming from, he would make a good contestanit. I can't stand Ron or Helen, they just bug the crap out of me and need to leave.
I've noticed most of the time, they let the women keep their hair long. I look at their makeovers and think "So ... if you have short hair, WANT short hair, or like your current color, you shouldn't bother with a makeover?!" LOL Throw in some different highlights or something!
I can't stand Helen or Ron either... I think Helen's one of the biggest candidates to go home and put weight back on because she'll go back to her party lifestyle (just like she did when her team went away that week, remember? She was the one who started the tequila shots!)
I'd thought that about Max, too.. maybe he'll make it into next season. I think people would like to see him on the show. If not, I hope Mikey can help him understand what he needs to do. (Ron sure won't be any help!) I can't wait to see Ron & Mikey next week when Mikey tells Ron he blames him somewhat for his weight.
(MH thought that was horrible that Mike kind of blamed his parents. I said "I kind of do my parents! They ingrained in me the eating habits I fight to break now. They're the ones, at age 5, when I was crying or wanted to spend time with them or my siblings, who gave me a cookie and sat me in front of the TV. I was FREAKING 5 YEARS OLD.. I was responsible for healthy eating?")
I wasn't a bit upset that they didn't do any big makeovers (like last year they cut renee's hair off). I loved Laura's color on her, but not the cut. Tara didn't change at all. Ron looked much younger with no beard, but most men do. I loved Helen's dress other than that she looked no different. I liked the fact that they darkened kristen's hair. I hated the blonde streaks. Mike was so cute! He reminds me so much of big little brother. Filipe looked much better with a haircut.
I will say that I cried like a baby when I watched Max break down. I'm the fat one out of my siblings so I know how he feels. My 19 year old brother is a little bigger but he's 6'3" and 230lbs so he doesn't look fat like me. I think that Mike will do a great job helping Max and I am hoping they will show him at the finale.
I thought it was selfish of Tara to want to keep Laura. I do think she would have had better support on the ranch, but she wouldn't be able to keep up and would more than likely be below the yellow line again next week. I was so glad to see that she was maintaining her weight loss at home and getting better. I was afraid she would be one to slip up.
Am I the only one who thinks strategically it was stupid for them to keep Kristin? I mean, let's be honest. She still has the most (of the girls) to lose. Which means she will be the hardest to beat most weeks. As much as I knew Laura needed to go home, I REALLY wanted it to be Kristin because I just don't care for her. MH and I are always making fun of her because she makes SUCH a huge deal out of everything.
That being said, the makeovers were ok. Mike looked great. Ron without a beard somehow made him uglier, which I didn't think was possible. And can someone PLEASE tell me how he got a wife who looks like that???? I know looks aren't everything but he's a jerk on top of the unattractiveness. Although his wife should have picked her foundation color a little more carefully (did anyone else notice her face looked pale and washed out but her neck was tan?). Laura's new haircolor was great. Oh, and Max broke my heart too. I think Mike will whip him into shape though.
I agree that strategically Kristin would have been the better player to send home...but I'm still at the point where I think she needs to stay to lose more weight. Game play aside she still needs to be on the ranch otherwise she won't keep losing.
LOL! MH was wondering how Ron got a wife like that too! Same with Sione and Blaine when they showed their wives.
I can see Sione and Blaine - those guys are fairly attractive (IMO)... but RON?! LOL FAR FROM IT (maybe he was a hottie when he was young? But come on... he's unattractive and an azz now!)
Yes, Kristin is strategically the worst player to keep. BUT, this season's players seem to be trying to do - usually - what's best for the people on the chopping block. Ron OBVIOUSLY wasn't going to vote for Kristin - they've been tight since the beginning and Bob would've KILLED him and Sione if they'd voted her off. Ron more than likely influenced Mikey to vote as he did and keep her.
I guess I expected the ranch to offer Laura more than she could've had at home (as far as 24/7 medical staff available, Cedar Sinai medical center, and creative training so she can do something without breaking her hip?)
Which is a question - how come no one ever uses the pool? Like Ron with his bad knee - water reduces a lot of stress, so why not utilize that?
I always wonder about the pool too and think maybe they just don't film people using it.
Yes Laura would have had more medical attention on the ranch but from what the players were saying she was still trying to get around all on her own and would most likely end up hurting herself even more.
But at home, she'd have to MORE because she has no one to go home to (and even if she did, they'd have normal lives to go about, whereas at the ranch, there are like 8 people doing nothing. LOL)
Mandy, we said the same thing about Ron: the guy's dealt with a serious knee injury THE ENTIRE SEASON. LOL
