Inviting the White House

Good Morning Ladies!!

So, I probably should just post this on the P&E or some other invites board, but I like you guys best:) So, I have belatedly found out that if you send an invite to the White House they will send you a congrats card back. (though it may take awhile). I've found that they will send you a card even after the fact, but there are many variations of the address (some with different zip codes, etc). I'm just wondering if any of you did this, and if so, did you get a response back?

If you got a response, which address did you use? I think DH will appreciate this more than me, so I'd like to surprise him with a greeting from the President. (Maybe it will be here in time for our 6-month anniversary:)

Re: Inviting the White House

  • I sent one at the end of January but still haven't hear a response. This was the address I got though from a knottie bio:

The President and Mrs. Barack Obama
    The White House
    Greetings Office, Room 39
    1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
    Washington, District of Columbia 20502

  • We sent one as well with the same address as pp.  Sent at the end of January.  No response, yet.  They said it usually takes at least 6 weeks, but I'm not surprised that it would take longer.
