I had to practically beg my mom to let me get braces when I was in high school cause I hated my teeth. We didnt have the greatest dental insurance, so my mom thought it was too expensive, but finally caved in. I ended up wearing braces senior year of high school and my freshman year of college. Every once in awhile I feel like my teeth are moving back, and I wear my retainers.

Like last night. Now my teeth hurt like a mofo, but I'm always really happy that my retainers still fit. :-)

So if you wore braces, do you still wear your retainers? If so, how often?

I was never good at wearing them but now I wish I knew where they were. I had a metal wire glued to the back of my bottom teeth for many years. I couldn't even feel it and my teeth never moved. I see that they are starting to move now and would love a new retainer.

I had braces from age 11-13 so I have no idea where my retainer even is. looking back now, I wish I would have gotten the braces later, my teeth have definitely shifted.

I had braces twice! Once as a teenager, but I didn't wear my retainers as I was supposed to. So I ended up getting braces again in law school. I haven't worn my retainers for a couple years now, but I probably should since one tooth has shifted slightly. It's always been the problem tooth. :-(

i got mine really late in life, like after the teen was born, and got them off in '99 - right before i met the hub! haha!

i don't even know where my retainers are anymore, but the last time i put them on, they hurt like a mofo. i know my teef have moved again, i'm sure i could benefit from invisalign or something, but it's not a priority right now.

I wore mine every night until I accidentally threw them away. That's been a few years, and I never went back for new ones. My teeth have shifted somewhat, but nothing terrible.

I wore braces from 3rd grade to 5th grade, and wore my retainers throughout high school. I haven't worn them in over 10 years and my teeth have moved quite a bit. I had a terrible ortho in the first place so I always planned on getting invisalign at some point.

I always thought my parents were pretty lame for having me get them so young, even if I didn't mind wearing my retainers my teeth were bound to move back on their own.

I wore braces for about nine months when I was 20 & I still wear my upper retainer almost every night for two or three hours. My lower one kept ripping up my mouth & after busting two fixed retainers, I just decided to let it go.

I had them from age 12-15. I had a HORRIBLE over bite.

So yea, I'm 25 now and I still wear my retainer every now and then. Sometimes it hurts for a couple hours at first so that makes me just wanna wear it more often to keep my teeth nice!

I wore braces from 5th grade until the summer before 9th grade. ?I wore my retainers 24/7 until I started college. ?I haven't worn them since. ?I am sure they wouldn't fit (if I knew where they were) but my teeth are pretty damn straight still!
