Late Taxes Question: Please Help!!
OK, I waited until today to drop my California tax return in the mail. Except, when I got to the post office, they had closed 30 min prior, so I just went ahead and put the envelope in the mail slot. My taxes will be postmarked April 16. How bad is this? I couldn't find a clear answer.
We owed money and I included a check for the full amount in the
envelope. Am I looking at big penalties here? I am so nervous!!

I included the check for the full amount I owed when I mailed it today. The envelope will just be postmarked April 16 instead of April 15. So you think I will be ok, based on your past experience??
I'm sure you will be fine. They will cash your check with a smile! Especially since I mailed mine late and didn't include payment.
