Hows that for a random post title
I went for a pedicure last Friday, about 3 days ago my big toe started hurting on the side, it's been getting worse since then to the point that it woke me up last night, now is very red and throbbing. I'm thinking that I may have fallen victim to an infection.
Why me? Seriously, I would like to go one week without going to a Dr's office for either myself, Cate or Sydney!
Re: My toe is throbbing
it couldn't possibly be ingrown could it? If it has nothing to do with the nail it probably is an infection
I used to work at a podiatrists office, he always used to say not to get pedicures, I still go monthly though lol.
I thought some places were "more likely" to assist you in getting an infection than others, Joanna. LOL (Like the place in the mall here that has no one you can understand? I saw a guy one time CUT a woman and she just about nailed his arse to the wall. He was just going to keep going about his business like nothing happened. She YANKED her feet away from him, demanded he sanitize EVERYTHING and gave him a list of "What to do if you cut your client". I couldn't believe the guy didn't want to do ANYTHING.)
P.S. - Haven't returned to that place since that happened!
That sucks. If they cut your toenail wrong then it probably is getting ingrown. I am not a doctor, but it sounds better than getting an infection. Sorry.
I podiatrist would unfortunately probably have to fix it either way. I would call asap before it gets worse
Definately sketchy places you are way more likely to get an infection!
If it's ingrown you could try soaking your foot in some warm water and then putting a piece of cotton ball under the side of the toenail that is ingrown.
But either way you'd want to see a dr since an ingrown toenail can lead to an infection too.
