Contact Lens Question

I have a question, okay maybe a few questions, for those of you who wear contacts. I only started wearing them last year for the wedding so tomorrow is my first yearly check-up since starting.

Should I wear them to the appointment? Or wear my glasses, and bring them with me? If I wear them there, I'm assuming I'd need to take them out for either the drops or the scan they can do without the drops.

Had I thought of this earlier, I would've asked them but I have the first appt in the morning so I'm curious what you do.

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

Re: Contact Lens Question

  • It doesn't matter what you wear to the appointment.  They will give you a new pair of contacts to put in before you leave anyways.  I usually go in my glasses and leave with the new contacts in.  You will have to take your contacts out and throw them away.

    Do you wear disposables?

You'll probably have to go back in a week though.  So that they can make sure the contacts are OK.  After a decade worth of wearing them you won't have to go to the contact follow up appointment anymore.  You'll just have to call and say if they are good.

They might give you a new brand of contacts to try since they are always developing new lenses.

  • Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.

I've been spoiled by sleeping in late this week so I'm not sure I could even open my eyes wide enough to put them in right now anyway.

  • If you really aren't sure just bring your contacts in the case with you.  I've only ever been to one eye doctor my entire life so I'm not sure if they all work the same way.
