where are my new neighbors?
good morning all. i am a former "knottie" now "nestie" (who hasn't posted in forever), but my family and i are moving to york county, dover to be exact. i just wanted to say hello and see who's out there, who i can talk to, where do people live, etc. our closing date is may 22 and we are really excited. have a great day and hope to talk to someone soon!!

DH and I moved from Lancaster to York last year. We live about 15 minutes from Dover.
Unless you go to the crappy theater as the West Manchester mall (off of 30) or the $2 theater off of Queen Street in South York, then the closest DECENT theater is in Hanover, which is about a half hour, although there is sort of a short cut that I could tell you, that woud avoid you going out of your way to get onto Rt 30 to get there. My mom works in Dover and DH is from Hanover so I used to drive to my mom's work from IL's house all of the time. There is a really cool Drive-In theater in Dillsburg, which is about 45 minutes away. Your kids would love it! It is the last one in this area.
I still don't know a lot about going out in York other than to a few places. The "best" mall in York is the York Galleria, but other than that the best mall IMO is in Lancaster and it will be about 45 minutes from you. The Wal Mart in East York is MUCH better than the one in West York, but the Target in West York (near you) is pretty good.

I live in West York (school district) and West Manchester (twp), which butts up against Dover. I'm probably not more than 10 minutes from you
The girls already gave some good suggestions -- I don't have kids, so no suggestions on that front. We also just purchased our first home (last October).
Odd about the Walmart-West comment above though. I vastly prefer the one on the west end (closer to your new home). Every time I go to the one on the east end of town, I'm literally the only shopper there who speaks english. Everyone around me is yammering away in spanish!
