US Census

K and I are going to be part of the census! :-) A census worker came to our house, verified our info and photographed the house.  He said we'll receive the paperwork and need to mail it in, otherwise he has to come back and interview us.  I'm really excited!  Although I know we don't count as married at least other info about us will be getting in there.

Anyone else know if you'll be part of it?

Re: US Census

  • cool! I haven't heard anything so i assume not
  • very cool!

we recieved a questionaire in the mail for it (i completed and sent it back) but nothing more since

  • Everyone should get Census 2010 forms around the official census date of April 1, 2010. Right now they are in the field doing some pre-work (address listing and such) to make sure everyone is on the list to get a form. Was it one of those things, or is this for a survey the Census Bureau is conducting? (The American Community Survey is the replacement for the old census "long form", and it is run year-round.)

I keep hoping we'll get selected for the American Community Survey. I think it'd be neat. But I'll settle for being in the Census. Smile

In 2000, I neglected to send our census form in on time, and they did send someone out to the apartment to interview us. I felt so bad for not mailing the form in!

That's what I thought - that everyone is part of it. But then I thought it was weird that he took a picture of our house.  I guess I'll just have to see what shows up in the mail.
