What are you making for meals these days?

I need some inspiration because lately the schedule has been so hectic we've done burgers or chicken on the grill alot.  I want to get back into meal planning for at least a week at a time or longer.

Anyone try anything yummy lately?

Re: What are you making for meals these days?

  • We have been having random things.  Last week I made chicken curry with snap peas and rice, Sunday I made a pork roast (with mushrooms and onions) in the crock pot.  We also made potato salad this weekend to go with hot dogs on the grill.  We are having the leftover tonight with steaks.

The cooking GTG is this Sunday at Wegmans.  Can you make it?  I am going to do a post on Thursday to remind everyone.

  • tonite we are having pulled pork (it's in the crockpot as we speak), oven fries, and a veggie.

tomorrow we are having steak on the grill, baked potato, and salad.

thursday will be breakfast for dinner.

  • We've been in a funk this last week or so too... had frozen pizza twice last week in fact (still good though!).  One day last week we had bruchetta chicken and it was ok, would have been better on the grill but it was dark and we were in a hurry.  I think that was the most creative we've been in a while!  Last night we had pasta w/ pesto sauce and garlic tandori naan (Indian flatbread, so good!).  Tonight we're having Greek burgers w/ sliced cucumbers on the side (gotta use those up before they go bad).  Tomorrow I may attempt a meatloaf or else we may do breakfast for dinner since we have eggs that need to be used up too.

  • I'll look for the post on the other board Denise.  There's a chance I'll be able to make it depending on what DH has planned since Sundays are one of his days off.

Last night I got out what I wanted to make after I got back from class, spinach ravioli (from costco) with grilled chicken and alfredo sauce with garlic texas toast, but DH made it while I was gone which was nice because then I got to come home and just eat!  Tonight he wanted hot dogs on the grill...so exciting...LOL.

  • I have to admit our meals the past few weeks have been seriously lacking.  I'm more inclined to grab a grilled cheese sandwich over taking the time to cook a normal meal.  All that talk about making meals for after the baby is born . . my advice is to make meals before you get pg! lol

Jen I think I picked up the wrong raviolis at costco this time bc I meant to get the spinach . . with that being said the chicken, mozzerela and rosemary ones I picked up instead were really good too!   Such an easy yummy dinner.

  • Too funny I think those are the ones I tried one time when they were doing a demo and when I went back later to get them they were temporarily sold out. Definitely easy yummy dinner!
