Hey Wan! (& other mothers)

...or mothers-to-be, or anyone with good suggestions for a baby birthday gift.

Please suggest a gift for a baby girl who is turning 1 and has everything.  Anything that you guys have received or wanted to receive and thought that it would be cool?

TIA!

  • Not a mom, but I say no one can ever have too many books, no matter what age,

  • At birthdays, they get tons of clothes and toys. Books and educational toys are always good. At my daughter's 1st bday we got a gift certificate to make a doll (kind of like Build A Bear). I also appreciated clothes and toys that she'd wear/ use later on in the year. If I was going to a party soon I'd probably get a bathing suit, sandals, sand toys, etc. (just b/c girl stuff is so darn cute)

  • Yes, books are wonderful!  Also, I second the clothing for later on as they grow so fast.  If you're looking into toys, I love some of the Parents toys at Target.  The bee bop band is super cute and so are the bristle blocks as they're really easy for little ones to put together.
  • Thanks so much for the input gals!  I know clothes for girls are always so tempting but I'm trying to steer away from that.
  • i've been gone all day! ?so i'm totally late with this, but i can tell you that we really did appreciate everything we received. ?we were given clothes in all sorts of different sizes (taking into consideration what size she'd probably be wearing during the coming seasons), books, and really fun age-appropriate toys. ?we didn't really buy a lot of toys for her ourselves, so that was great.

what about a gift certificate to a local kid's hair salon? ?that's kind of cool and could come in handy, especially if there's a salon that they wouldn't necessarily go in and spend money on.?

hi, KP!  for a sec, I thought you were going to say that you are PG.  ;)

(obviously) not a mom, but I love the discovery store - they have some cool educational stuff.  I don't think they have stores anymore but you should be able to order online and they have sections organized by age.

Thanks Wan and ssinca!  Such awesome suggestions!

No, not PG yet.  Biological clock is going off really loudly but I hit the snooze button.
