Anyone install an inground pool b-4?

We're starting to think about this option for the back yard - but in a few years.  Just wondering if someone could throw a general range for a typical inground pool w/ deep end for cost.......I've heard $10k - $30k and wasn't sure if that was realisitic in either direction.   Thoughts?

  • I haven't but my sister did.  Her project started as a $15K project- then they hit rock or ledge or something in the backyard as they were digging.  $55K later- she has her pool.  Hence I opted for an above ground.  Her pool is not very big at all.  Not sure if that info is helpful.

  • Our neighbors just installed a $200K gunite pool in their backyard.  Yikes!!!!  I want the invite over to their house.  Of course I am sure this is on the expensive side of the inground pool spectrum.

(For $200K, I hope they throw in a complimentary cabana boy!)

  • Reading these posts I am SO GLAD that ours was already here when we bought the house....... I had no idea that they cost THAT MUCH to install!!!!!
  • I have a friend who got one installed a couple years ago for $30k.  It's a good size and has a nice size deck around it.  Don't forget to add the cost of fencing and landscaping when you're figuring the budget.
